Here's a partial list of the agencies that have stepped in to help with Hurricane Katrina relief efforts:

  • Federal Emergency Management Agency

  • Army Corps of Engineers

  • Environmental Protection Agency

  • Coast Guard

  • Food and Nutrition Service

  • Natural Resources Conservation Service

  • Health and Human Services Department

  • Transportation Department

  • Defense Department's Northern Command

  • National Guard

  • Occupational Safety and Health Administration

More details are here. And the list above doesn't include all the other agencies, like the National Weather Service, NASA, NOAA and the FAA, that are involved in operations not directly focused on aid to those affected.
