A blogger who goes by "Nitpicker" weighs in with an amazing anecdote about GSA Administrator Lurita Doan's testimony before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee today: After the committee adjourned for a vote following testimony by Doan, she told one of her advisers to remove the water glass she had been using, so panel members wouldn't be able to get her fingerprints from it. I found this story hard to believe, so I checked the video of the hearing, and sure enough, it's true. As she confers with her aides, Doan clearly says:
"Take my water and my glass. I don't want them to have my fingerprints. They've got me totally paranoid."

Tom Shoop once again saves the civilized world!
These million-a-week nuggets sniping about Lurita Doan have allowed readers to focus on the really important issues of the day, as opposed to peripheral ones such as the abject failure of the Bush Administration's foreign policy and Middle East "defense" strategy.
In the video, Doan is clearly making a joke; one of her aides laughs when hearing the comment. Another is joshing her about saying "y'all" in her previous, similarly joking comment to the photographers. What is the deal with your focus on Doan, Mr. Shoop? I can't find any reason for this other than some sort of Wonkette-style partisanship. Next thing we know you'll be using adjectives like "snarky" as you blog from your favorite Adams-Morgan watering hole...
