Don't Sugarcoat It, Mr. Secretary

This is called making your point loud and clear:

"I think it was one of the dumbest and most inappropriate things I've seen since I've been in government. I have made unambiguously clear, in Anglo-Saxon prose, that it is not to ever happen again and there will be appropriate disciplinary action taken against those people who exhibited what I regard as extraordinarily poor judgment."

That's Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff speaking about FEMA's phony press conference last week.

This once and for all answers the question why the public distrusts the government, why people believe politicians have no integrity. The sad thing is that now these liars have a willing partner in Fox television, which bolsters the appearance of truth. We don't believe a thing the car salesman tells us, and maybe that is the attitude we must take with this government - don't believe a thing they say.
