Thompson's Withdrawal
By Tom Shoop | Tuesday, January 22, 2008  |  03:44 PM

Fred Thompson has made it official: He's out of the presidential race. Politics aside, this means that the race has lost the candidate with arguably the strongest working knowledge of the management challenges facing the federal government right now -- certainly the strongest on the Republican side. And as I keep saying, these issues really matter -- and not just to the people who work in government, but to the country as a whole.

I respectfully disagree with your statement that Thompson has the strongest working knowledge of the management challenges facing the government now. I agree that he was the most conservative viable candidate and had some good background, however, McCain has more time in the government and should have a better knowledge and we have three candidates who have executive experience. Technically, any one of those three would have better experience and knowledge than Thompson. Romney is obviously the person most likely to be able to understand the challenges and do something about them. The biggest problem is that Congress is the organization that has the control. The President is just the administrator. After looking at all the candidates in both parties I can see only three who are qualified and one of them stands out to me. Romney has the best background by far. Thompson would have been good, but he is gone. We have to look now at who is left.

We're doomed I tell you. Fred Thompson was the REAL person for change and not just talk like the other candidates. Please Remember Ron Paul now.
