Super QB vs. Obesity

Attention Americans: Super Bowl-winning quarterback Eli Manning, appointed by President Bush to serve on the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, wants you to get off the couch and be more active. Manning is launching an effort to register a million people for the National President's Challenge, six-week program designed to combat obesity by raising particpants' levels of physical activity.

I wonder if this is the kind of "activity" Manning has in mind:

I'm a civilian employee with the Air Force. We're allowed to use 3 hours of work time a week to work-out on base. A lot of people here use it and it's a great benefit.

If the Government is serious about getting people fit it should provide some incentives. Work time off for physical fitness and free class.

The more the Government is willing to put into it the better off we all will be. Most people do not have the time or the money to put into it today.
