FAA's Missed Reviews
By Tom Shoop | Tuesday, May 06, 2008  |  11:14 AM

The Federal Aviation Administration has missed more than 100 top-to-bottom safety reviews of airlines in recent years, the Wall Street Journal reports today. The reviews are supposed to be conducted at least once every five years, to make sure airlines have the systems in place to identify safety issues and deal with them.

Acting FAA Administrator Robert Sturgell told Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., that "inadequate resources" may have been a factor in the missed assesments. The agency says it has completed most reviews, and is developing a system to alert top officials when they are overdue.

The focus of the FAA for the past 2 yrs has been to break the controllers union (NATCA) and nothing else. They have failed miserably doing that and just about every other task they were supposed to do. FIRE BOBBY STURGELL before it is too late !

Inadequate resources, rightttt. Another activity wanting more money and people is there any other reason?? Not in government its always about more more more.
I'm sure we'll see posts about how dedicated the employees at FAA are, but we won't see anything about work in the posts. Since keeping up with the inspections are clerical looks like its time for a job bid via A76
