Here's one of those stories that shows a commitment to public service sometimes transcends a commitment to government service: The Washington Post reports that after the Peace Corps evacuated all 113 of its volunteers from Bolivia last month -- fearing that they might get caught up in political unrest in the country -- several of them have returned on their own to try to complete projects they started.

  • That's so sweet! Who knew the Peace Corps was full of coca-loving chavistas with the means and wherewithal to carry out international service on their own terms without benefit of a federal program to oversee it?

  • Happy Fed needs to lay off. These people are going out of their way to help others, at great personal risk, without getting paid. It isn't their fault they can afford it.

Considering most Federal workers are out the door every day at 5:00pm on the dot (heaven forbid they spend 2 more minutes in the office), and the entire Federal workforce refuses to get anything done on Mondays and Fridays, maybe "Happy Fed" could learn a thing or two from these "coca-loving chavistas."
