The Domestic Partnership Benefits and Obligations Act Moves Forward
Just got word that the House Oversight and Government Reform Federal Workforce Subcommittee passed the bill, which would provide access to a range of benefits for the domestic partners of gay and lesbian federal employees, this morning, moving it on to the full committee for consideration. More details to come.

Government Executive Staff Correspondent Alyssa Rosenberg takes a look at news affecting the management and operations of the massive federal bureaucracy.

It is still UNEQUAL. And that will never be acceptable. Would YOU accept it?
This is nothing more than Apartheid, right here in the grand old US of A.
We should be ashamed of ourselves as a country. Heterosexuals are bringing MILLIONS of Gay & Lesbian children into this world, then they are spending the rest of their lives making sure THEIR VERY OWN GAY & LESBIAN CHILDREN are abused, mistreated, and degraded for their entire lives. Then, as if you don't make it hard ENOUGH, you encourage Governemnt to do the same thing.
Morality indeed, Heteros. Morality indeed.
Bill Posted Thursday, July 30, 2009 11:04 AMThis entire “domestic partner” controversy is a result of aberrant sexual behavior, not to mention the immoral choices made by those professing to be homosexuals. The Government should not spend any tax dollars to support, promote, or fund this immoral activity. Creating yet another entitlement program to support immoral behavior is absolutely WRONG. Marriage is the only partnership that can be morally and formally recognized by any rational government. And, marriage is, and always will be strictly between a man and a woman – any other combination is wrong, no matter how anyone tries to rationalize it.
The Democrats state that the legislation will provide a tool to keep federal agencies competitive in recruitment and retention of employees. Give me a break! This clearly demonstrates the complete lack of integrity, poor judgment, and defective moral grounding in the Democrat Party and their attempt to improperly rationalize immoral and deviant behavior and another entitlement program to build their voter base. It is sad that the outrageously perilous performance of the Democrats is tolerated and accepted by anyone, yet alone supported by Mr. Obama and his out-of-touch, misguided administration.
Also, the OPM Director should not be lobbying for the homosexual agenda, especially when he has chosen to be labeled homosexual and would financially benefit from his proposals, assuming Congress abandons any remaining semblance of moral integrity/dignity and passes the bill.
What’s next on the Democrat’s liberal and destructive agenda . . . are they going to start recognizing bestiality as a normal Democrat behavior? This may sound a bit facetious, but it is equally wrong with recognizing homosexual behavior as the Democrats are trying to do in their domestic partner bill.
The government has absolutely NO business recognizing homosexuals, except for offering aid to afford homosexuals the opportunity to treat their self-chosen sickness and learn to begin functioning as human beings are intended to.
American Posted Friday, July 31, 2009 9:11 AMI am an open lesbian that is a veteran and senior civilian. The amount of nonsense I have had to endure for being open was unbelievable. I stood up and won against this. I look forward to the day when this government will admit they have oppressed the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender community is very horrific ways.
Presently Seaman August Provost was murdered while on watch at Camp Pendleton. The story provided by the investigators about his murder is really illogical and sounds like nonsense. Anybody with a military background would really find this story hard to believe for many reasons. Seaman Augut Provost was harassed for the entire year he worked at Camp Pendleton for being gay. Due to Don't Ask Don't Tell (DADT) he could not get help from this treatment because he would have been fired for telling. This is horrible and disgusting. Since the 1940s over 100,000 service members have been kicked for being gay. What is most interesting is that some were actually straight, but the accusation alone based on little to no facts is enough to get you kicked out.
Then when it comes to DOMA that too is unfair. An entire class of people are excluded from equality due to bigotry. Please do not throw religion into this, because religion has always been used for justification for bigotry (e.g. slavery, segretation) and that is wrong.
Additionally this nation included in its Bill of Rights the first amendment ..."Separation between Religion and matters of the State".... Well marriage is a civil matter. You do not need a religion to get married. There are many athiests in this nation that are married.
